KakaoPage is the publisher for Solo Leveling and many other mangas. They have decided to go after any sites displaying their stuff.
I had noticed that xBato wasn't when I checked it this past week. And turns out, xBato was taken down by KakoaPage. xBato was the site I used before discovering Vymanga.
Turns out, they even went after Mangadex. The site itself wasn't taken down but they had to remove a lot of their available materials.
The nice thing about these sites is that it gives us translated materials that we are able to read for free.
But that also puts them at risk of being sued and taken down. Some publishers don't are action, the problem is the ones that do.
It's frustrating when you can't find the needed translation for one you love to read. Or when you have to go to multiple sites to find different reads for various reasons (like one site has manga and another has mahwah for example) which becomes troublesomeif they each want a subscription fee and you have no money. Also, Publishers are unlikely to give their permission to post their materials unless they get something out of it. Everything is about money these days sadly.
I am curious what Vymanga's plan is for this...
It has such a large collection after all.
I think I'll start keeping a list of what mangas/mahwahs I bookmark so that in the event they are taken down on one site, I can hopefully look for them again on another site.
What are your thoughts, opinions and suggestions regarding KakaoPage's crackdown or potential takedowns in general?
